Popular Event : Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge


For your information there are one of the biggest events that launch at Pahang. That is Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge. During this events the participants will strive bound to get a big fish during the events. This event is very popular at Pahang.


This event is held at Pantai Bernas Jetty, Kuala Rompin, Pahang, Malaysia. All fishing enthusiasts  around Malaysia will gather together during this event. This event can be said to be a fishing tournament looking champions in the big fish.


The Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge is an annual off-shore catch and release fishing competition that has been held for the past four years at the sea off the town and serene beaches of Kuala Rompin in Pahang, about 125 km south of Kuantan, Malaysia.
The event also boosts tourism for the state of Pahang, with an annual tourism revenue of 58.3billion ringgit. Last year alone Pahang recorded 9.3million tourist arrivals. The South China Sea offers a natural migration route for the Billfish species (istiophorus platypterus) on their way from the northern hemisphere to Australia. There are 12 species of true billfishes, divided into two families and four genera. One family, Xiphiidae, contains only one species, the swordfish Xiphias gladius, and the other family, Istiophoridae contains 11 species in three genera, including marlin, spearfish and sailfish. Like tuna, bonito and mackerel, billfish have both the ability to migrate over long distances, efficiently cruising at slow speeds, and the ability to generate rapid bursts of speed. These speed bursts can be quite astonishing, and the Indo-Pacific sailfish has been recorded making a burst of 68 miles per hour (110 km/h), nearly top speed for a cheetah and the highest speed ever recorded for a fish. Unique Fruits


At Pahang, there are three type of unique food that people cannot find at other states. The three of the fruits are Strawberry, Pomegranate and Persimmon.



This strawberry the visitors can find when there went to Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands. Besides, they can pluck the strawberry and eat the fresh strawberry at that time itself.









Then, pomegranate also can be find at Pahang. The pomegranate is very good for our health. Rounded pomegranate with green when young turning to shades of yellow, red mixed green when ripe. The fruit contains many seeds that are covered with a sweet substance either red or pink transparent.









Then, at Pahang also we can eat and find the Persimmon. Persimmon also very good for our health. The Persimmon type of nutritious fruit that contains vitamin C, glucose, sucrose, fructose, and iodine, high-value medical terms. It is highly beneficial in lowering high blood pressure, increases blood circulation in coronary arteries, relieve constipation and overcome hiccup. Although this fruit called plantain and yellow but the form and contents did not resemble typical banana-banana others. White powder found on the surface of a dried banana feet sweet taste and also contain mannitol, glucose and vitamin C is good for the lungs and heart.

Arts : Pahang Looms



Woven cloth is believed derived from Riau and Sulawesi. It brought to Pahang in the 16th century AD. Bugis introduced by a speaker called the Tuk Tuan (Keraing Aji).

Woven fabric of Pahang has become part of Malaysian culture is used particularly in formal ceremonies and of honor. Tenun Pahang DiRaja is produced according to traditional methods of retain subtlety and get compliment and attention from their own buff either in the country or overseas.

Woven fabrics of Pahang are usually used for sarong, sampin and scarf, and now applied in the modern fashion designs parallel with the latest trends and tastes. It is also used by local designer and abroad, especially to the government official, ceremonial marriage and the Royal.

From  1995 untill now government has taken the initiative to to promote and redevelop the Tenun Pahang DiRaja to ensure its always remain the Art Heritage of Pahang.





Historical Site : Pahang Club



Pahang Club is the first building was built by the British in 1867. This building is at Kuala Lipis Pahang. This site was first administration by the British. Actually this house is bulid for provide Hugh Cliford. At that time Hugh Cliford was superintendent at Ulu Pahang, but he stayed at Kuala Lipis. After 1898, this house dwelling for British Resident. When the British Resident was Hugh Cliford and he was thinking of building a home that better suited to ease his control Lipis area. Therefore, he has found a more appropriate site Resident Hill. While waiting for completion of houses in Resident Hill , he settled in Pahang Club House until 1922.

In mid-1926, the club house have been left and then British government has made this home a special club for British officers only. The original home resident's dwelling did not even do renovations especially interiors. This aims to keep the originality of its architecture. While it became club Pahang, this home was strictly controlled. According to Mr. Razak, a gardener, not without people who can go where clothes should be neatly tie and represents the status at the time. As Pak Razak, the shoe is a flash up the polished floor of this club every day. During this abandoned house before, it had to be shaping the upcoming castle but this is silenced because the proposals were rejected by the palace.

In 1957, the club membership only for dignitaries and British government officials only. Then when Malaya's independence, its membership is open to local people regardless of race audiences. In general, the activities of this club is for recreational facilities, sports activities such as tennis, badminton and sepak takraw. In addition, it also conducts community activities.
